Objective questions should get objective answers!. In this context Maybe, Might and Possibly are jargon!
“How are you today?” is very likely to have a subjective answer, “how does this piece of code works?” is not!
If you’re not sure how some code is written, how something is working, what is the number of new registrations…..etc , “Let me check and get back to you” is the right answer.
Keep in mind that, using maybe will not put you on the safe side, rather it gives the impression that you do not know what you are talking about. Even worse it means that your communication skills are not mature enough!. Answering all questions on the spot won’t make you look smarter.
Be careful with “Maybe” and strive to use it less often at work.
